Highlights of Our Week Dec. 6-13

What a busy week we had!  From learning our Partners to 10 Facts, finishing up our visit in Germany and "flying" to India, learning about dental health with Nurse Hadley to creating maps in our outdoor learning space!  So much fun and learning!!

Forest Time Thursday's challenge was to create a map showing how to get from our school out to our outdoor classroom.

Learning about dental health with Nurse Hadley.

Learned about Partners to 10 Facts

Learned about feelings and how to "read" how someone else might be feeling based on their facial expression and body language with Ms. Spaulding.

Read "Me On the Map" and "Follow that Map", learned about the many communities that we belong to and created some maps.

Mapped where we are in our "Holiday Travels", learned about St. Nikolaus Day (candy in shoes!!) in Germany, and "flew" to India for our next adventure.

It Looked Like Spilt Milk!

First graders started a new (Opinion) writing unit today by doing some string painting!! We read "It Looked Like Spilt Milk" and discussed what the word "opinion" means.  We can't wait to write our opinions about what our abstract art looks like!
