Making Ice Cream

We had our last visit with Miss Virginia today and she ended her time with us with a very special treat: homemade ice cream!!  Before we got busy making ice cream, Miss Virginia asked for a volunteer to dress up as a cow again so that we could review all that we have learned about these amazing animals!  Ask your child the following questions to learn so interesting facts about cows:
What is a ruminant?
Why is 4 a cow's lucky number?
Why does a cow have such a big tongue?
Why don't female cows have horns?
Why do cows always look like they are chewing?
Which kind of cow gives the most milk?
Have fun with this!!

Practicing how to roll the ice cream ball.

Packing the ball with ice cubes and salt.

Adding cream, vanilla and sugar.

Doing all of the hard work of rolling and rolling and rolling...

Until finally... Ice cream!!!!!  Yum!!

And a final farewell gift!
