Fairy Tales with the Third Graders

First graders got to visit the third graders last week to hear them read fairy tales!  Third graders are beginning a writing unit during which they will be writing their own versions of fairy tales. Part of preparing for this writing unit is to read many, many fairy tales.  We were invited to help them out by being a captive audience on which they could also practice reading with expression.  We loved it!!  And we also got to see their newly hatched chicks as a bonus!!
