First Graders made some new friends today! After reading the book, A Tree Can Be..., they chose a tree to become friends with. To get to know their new friend, they spent some time sitting with it, observing it, examining it's bark, even smelling it! They drew a picture of it in their journal and some even chose to name their tree. We hope to make many visits to our special tree friends this year, as we begin a journey to learn more about the trees around us.
