Highlights of Week 1!

 We had such a great first week of our school year!  Here are some highlights from the first three days!

We read Butterflies on the First Day of School and talked about our feelings of excitement and nervousness coming into a new classroom, meeting new friends, and starting a new school year.  We then created butterfly bracelets to remind us that it is okay to have all of those feelings and that we will take care of each other!

We played with some Magic Playdoh and found out that we will have a GREAT school year!

We read Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom and created our own alphabet trees with our names!

We each got a Welcome Bag and went over what all of the items in the bag represent. 

 We explored some math manipulatives and started our new First Grade Math Books!

We started to explore the books in our classroom library.  I found out that I have a class full of book lovers!!

We read All Are Welcome and created hands to represent ourselves and our belonging in this new classroom.  They will be on display on our classroom door all year!

And we took our very first class picture!
