Forest Art

First graders made it out to the forest today!  Our trip through the woods was magical with all of the fresh snow clinging to the trees.  What a beautiful place to be!
As Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and we have been thinking about what we are thankful for, we carried that discussion into the woods.  We read a book about taking care of our earth and everything on it, and that inspired us to think about all the amazing things in nature that we are thankful for.  After sharing ideas, the students then created pictures in the snow of the many things in nature that they are thankful for.  So many artists busy creating - it was a beautiful scene!

Doubles Facts

First graders spent time practicing and learning the Doubles Facts this week!  They did some different activities, listened to some fun songs, and made some flashcards to bring home to continue to practice their facts with.  These are very helpful facts to memorize so any extra support from home as your child is learning them is very much appreciated!

Authors' Share

We had a wonderful ending to our Small Moments writing unit this week!  Our class was able to get together with Mrs. Hackett's class on Thursday and Mrs. Poor's class on Friday to share our published Small Moment stories with them!  Everyone did such an amazing job writing, publishing, and then sharing their stories!  Way to go First Graders!!
