The Forming of a Chrysalis
This afternoon first graders were extremely fortunate to be treated to view a home video which captured a magical moment in the life cycle of the monarch butterfly. Thanks to the Brooks family who shared their video with us (they were able to capture this event as it unfolded in their home tank), students were able to watch the transformation of a monarch caterpillar into its chrysalis. We currently have 3 chrysalises in our classroom tank, as well as multiple smallish caterpillars still munching away on milkweed!
