Opinion Writing - Duck? or Rabbit?

We kicked off a new writing unit today: opinion writing!  We began with learning about what an opinion is, and then read a familiar book called Duck! Rabbit! by Amy Krouse.  The students were then challenged to write their first opinion piece in which they had to explain why, in their opinion, the picture was a duck or a rabbit.  They tried to come up with three reasons for their opinion!  Then we shared with each other.
