Building Numbers with Tens and Ones

First graders have really started digging into our base 10 number system.  Their understanding of our place value system is taking off!  Today they did an activity where they had to roll two dice, use the numbers that they rolled to create a 2-digit number, build that number with Base 10 Blocks, record the blocks, and write that number in expanded form.  Whew!!  A lot of steps but they did great!!
