We spent some time in the woods recently visiting our "Tree Friends" and learning about what is on the inside of a tree. We began by reading about the different parts that make up the inside of a tree, and then played a game of riddles to see if we could then identify the various parts. First graders also got to take a close look at some real examples of tree slices, and try counting the rings to figure out the age of the tree.
