Highlights of Our Learning from the Week of November 1, 2021

 

Highlights of the week: 

• Introduced the digraphs: sh, ch, th, wh, ph and practiced using them with a variety of activities

• Played a math game called Build It where we built teen numbers with tens frames and wrote equations to go with them like this: 14 = 10 + 4

• Played a variety of subtraction games and worked on the “count back” strategy

• Did a new kind of math problem where there is more than one answer!  “How Many Peas and Carrots?”

• Learned about Partner Reading and the expectations that go along with it, and got to practice it, too!

• Read more about vegetable farms and designed our own

• Had a school-wide celebration: Dress as your favorite book character

• Learned about adding beginnings to our small moment stories

• Continued working on handwriting, writing lowercase letters, and placing them in the lines correctly
