Roll and Record

We played a fun game in math today called Roll and Record.  Players roll 2 dice, add them together practicing the "counting on" strategy and record their answer on the grid.  The goal is to see which number reaches the top first! This also provided great practice for forming and writing our numbers correctly!  We ended with a wonderful discussion about the probability of getting certain numbers more often than others.  They were very curious why most of them rolled totals of 7 or 8 the majority of the time.  Great wonderings from these kiddos!
