We wrote our first Friday Letter last week! Friday Letters are a tradition in our first grade classrooms where students write a letter home each week to tell their families something about their week in school. We hope that this helps jump start some conversations between students and their families! We also ask families to write a note back to their student that they will get to read the following week. It is a very motivating writing exercise with so many added benefits! It also becomes a wonderful record of how our students’ writing is growing and progressing throughout the year! In the beginning of the year we write the letter as a group. Students can choose to use that one or write their own ideas. We can’t wait to get our notes back from our families this Friday!!
