Highlights from the week of January 18, 2022


IMPORTANT  MESSAGE: 

Due to the high number of positive Covid-19 cases currently, our administration is asking that you please take the time to fill out this survey about getting At Home Rapid Antigen tests in the event that your child/ren needs them. We thank you in advance. 

 

Also, I want to be sure to express a huge thank you to those of you who were able to send in baby wipes and/or Clorox-type wipes.  It is very appreciated as we are trying our best to keep our room as clean and germ-free as possible.  


It was a short and cold week but we were able to pack in a lot of learning and fun! 


We: 

  • Continued to learn and practice the -ng “glued sounds” during our Word Study time

  • Learned about what makes a complete sentence

  • Listened to many of the “What if You Had Animal (Teeth, Hair, etc.) ” books as we continue to focus on animal traits and characteristics.  

  • Began our new math unit on measurement

  • Compared items around the classroom to a standard ruler to assess whether they were longer or shorter than the ruler

  • Started learning about time and how to tell time to the hour

  • Learned about the following nonfiction features: captions, headings,  and maps 

  • Had our school-wide celebration Snow Play Day

  • Had an extra Choice Time as a celebration of reaching 60 hours of reading homework!!

Beginning our new math unit!







Practicing the -ng glued sounds as well as writing sentences (dictated) using words we have learned during our word study time.
