Clay Creatures, Flying Seeds, and So Much More! Week of March 28, 2022
This week we accomplished so much! We had a guidance lesson with Ms. Spaulding to start the week off and ended the week with eating for our first time in the cafeteria!! To round out the last week of March…
We:
Learned about taking care of our bodies, and thought about all of the things first graders can do for themselves and not need help for
Read a great book called My Mouth is a Volcano and discussed how important it is to not interrupt other people but to wait for our turn to speak
Learned about creating mental images in our minds as we read or listen to stories
Drew our most vivid mental images from the story The Snowy Day
Practiced doing more equivalent equations with ten plus facts
(7+8 = 10+5)
Worked on determining whether or not an equation is true or false
Wrote our Table of Contents and About the Author pages for our animal research books
Created our animals out of model magic clay
Learned about seed dispersal, made different types of seeds out of paper and practiced launching them
Had our first lunch in the cafeteria and it went really well!
and of course, wrote our Friday letters!!
