Highlights from the week of April 11, 2022
We have had a wonderful stretch between February break and this April break. The students have been working so hard and learning many new things. They have recently realized that they are almost second graders!
We had a special time in the forest celebrating our hard work with a tea party! A beautiful day and a beautiful way to end the week!
Over the past week we:
Had guidance with Ms. Spaulding and talked about what to do if someone touches our bodies in an uncomfortable and inappropriate way, and who we can (and should) tell - the trusted adults in our lives; we also identified a trusted adult and made paper dolls to represent them
Continued Practicing using the magic “e”
Worked on math problems with an unknown change (missing addend or subtrahend) and making false equations true
Had a school-wide celebration: Double Recess
Had a tea party in the forest!
Observed and sketched the buds on the trees for a second time - we noticed a little bit of green popping through!
Had a sing-a-long with Mrs. Hackett’s class
Had a Mystery Guest Reader as a reward for another 60 hours of reading homework!
Read The Salamander Room and drew our most vivid mental images
Practiced reading our animal research books to prepare for… our Animal Research Exhibit and invited our families in!
