Adding Multiples of Tens

First graders continued their work on the concept of place value by adding and subtracting multiples of tens.  Students were using different strategies, depending on their comfort level with working with these higher numbers.  They could build the numbers out of base ten blocks, use the 120 (or 200) number chat, or do it mentally.  It was exciting to see their growth of understanding around working with multiples of tens!
