Investigating Pushes and Pulls

First graders started their Force and Motion unit this week with an investigation of pushes and pulls. They learned that a force is a push or a pull on something, and that all objects or things need some kind of a force to make them move, or give them motion.  Students set up a ramp and used a ball and a toy car to test out giving something a light or a strong push, and then a light or strong pull. They observed and compared what happened to each object each time. They were amazing scientists as they conducted this experiment!  Ask your child what they found out!!
