March of the Penguins!

As a culminating activity for our measuring unit first graders made life sized penguins!  They each chose the type they wanted to make (out of four: rockhopper, chinstrap, little blue, or emperor), filled out a fact sheet on them, and then got to work measuring a length of string that would be used to ensure that their paper penguin was the accurate real-life height.  After the creations were completed first graders went on a penguin March to the office to share them with Mr. White!
