Building our Reading Satmina

First graders have been working all week on building their stamina for independent reading, or "read to self" time.  Earlier in the week they reviewed what read to self time feels like, sounds like, and looks like. They also discussed why read to self time is so very important - because it helps us grow in our reading abilities, helping us get to stronger and stronger in our reading, just like practicing anything else does. Students also have heard a couple of great books to help them think about anmazing and important reading is!
