Fill the Hexagons!

By playing a game called "Fill The Hexagons" first graders discovered there are many different ways to make a hexagon by fitting together certain pattern block shapes: triangles, rhombuses, and trapezoids.  Students rolled special dice with shapes on them and then had to decide where to place each shape to fill all 6 hexagons.  Some good spatial thinking going on during this!!
