Touch and Tell, Then Sketch, Then Write
First graders have been doing some great writing during our writing workshop. This week we focused on the planning part of writing and learned how important and helpful it is to think through and plan our ideas before we start writing them down. Once we have an idea, we can tell the story across our fingers, then tell it across the pages of our blank booklet (touch and tell), then sketch the drawings on each page (to help us remember what we are going to write on teach page), and finally write!
